Matregenix, Inc. partners with Hodges International, Inc to Introduce their PFAS-Free Nanofiber Barrier Layer to the Active and Protective Apparel Industries

IRVINE, Calif. - April 3, 2023 - PRLog -- [Irvine, California], Matregenix, Inc., a global leader in nanofiber technology, and Hodges International, 100% Woman-Owned U.S.-based cut and sew manufacturer of quality products, are proud to announce their partnership to develop PFAS-free active clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of chemicals that are widely used as liquid repellent in the clothing and PPE industry. However, PFAS are also persistent in the environment and can accumulate in the body over time, leading to a range of health problems, including cancer, thyroid disease, and immune system damage. In response to growing concerns about the impact of PFAs on human health and the environment, Matregenix is developing a nanofiber barrier layer that is free from these harmful substances. Hodges International will help implement this technology into functional apparel as our manufacturing partner.

This collaboration will result in PFAS-free products with superior protection against a range of liquid, chemical, and biological hazards while being both lightweight and breathable. Matregenix and Hodges International are confident that their collaboration which includes advanced Nanofiber Solutions will set a new standard for active and protective apparel in terms of human health and safety, comfortability, and sustainability.
